I found Abyss to be a captivating drama that skillfully blends fantasy, romance, and mystery. The concept of reincarnation and transformation based on one's appearance was intriguing from the start. As I watched, I appreciated how the storyline delved into the complexities of identity and self-worth through the experiences of Cha Min and Go Se-yeon. What I appreciated most was the character development throughout the series. Cha Min, originally portrayed as physically unattractive, undergoes a significant transformation that challenges societal norms and perceptions of beauty. This evolution not only serves as a catalyst for his personal growth but also deepens the thematic exploration of identity and self-worth. Meanwhile Go Se-yeon's journey after her unexpected death provided a unique perspective on life and second chances. The chemistry between the lead actors, Park Bo-young and Ahn Hyo-seop, was palpable and added depth to their characters' emotional journeys. Their evolving relationship, fraught with complications stemming from their altered appearances and newfound abilities, kept me invested throughout the series.
